WATER

Extraction:  water is an element present in most cosmetic products and is the most important raw material. In the cosmetics industry, purified water is used in a process to eliminate any solid particle that may contain water in order to achieve a higher degree of purity and quality.

Benefits: water helps to cleanse the body. Hydrates and improves the effect of other active ingredients, provides softness and delays premature aging of the skin.

ARACHIDYL/BEHENYL ALCOHOL

Extraction: it is derived from plant sources such as corn.  

Benefits: they are fatty alcohols that are used in cosmetics as emulsifiers. They are also used as thickeners, to increase the foamability of a product or to improve foam stability. It softens the skin and leaves a non-greasy feeling after application.

VEGETABLE GLYCERIN

Extraction: it is harvested from plants (soy or coconut oil for example) by hydrolysis of fats and by fermenting sugars. Glycerol is found naturally in skin and is considered a self-healing compound.

Benefits: it is one of the many substances in the skin that helps maintain the outer barrier and prevents dryness and peeling. It leaves skin feeling nourished and works to treat acne. It also prevents the accumulation of fat and improves the appearance of hair. Vegetable glycerin can be used as a diluent and as an alcohol substitute when preparing herbal extracts.

CETEARYL ALCOHOL

Extraction: mixture of cetyl and stearic alcohols that are produced naturally in plants.

Benefits: these alcohols have the ability to prevent emulsions from separating between their oily and watery parts. These ingredients are also used to alter the thickness of liquid products, to increase foam capacity or to stabilize them.

Extraction: It is plant-based source such as corn.  

Benefits: It is used in cosmetics as an emulsifier. It is also used as a thickener, to increase the foamability of a product or to improve foam stability. It softens the skin, and it leaves a non-greasy feeling after application."

UNDECANE

Extraction: it is derived from natural mineral sources.  

Benefits: forms a light, fresh and fast spreading emollient derived from 100% renewable raw materials. A sustainably sourced alternative to silicone, it helps products apply easily, absorb quickly and leave a soft and dry feeling on the skin.

SODIUM LACTATE

Extraction: it is produced by fermentation of a sugar source, such as corn or beetroot.  

Benefits: it is a humectant; it hydrates the skin by keeping water in the deepest layers of the skin. Helps prevent water loss and supplies a feeling of elasticity. It works as a keratolytic agent, which means it helps remove dead cells from the skin's surface, contributing to its overall healthy functions and helping to improve skin problems such as keratosis pilaris, rough texture, and dry and dull skin.

TRIOLEIN

Extraction: Triolein, also known as triolein, is a triglyceride of oleic acid and represents 4-30% of olive oil. It is also found in almond oil.

Benefits: moisturising agent, it is also used as a controlling agent of the product's viscosity.

KAOLIN

Extraction: kaolin is a clay mineral that can be white, beige or pink, depending on where it is extracted.

Benefits: it allows to give consistency to a product. It has sebum regulating properties, being able to absorb skin impurities. Its detoxifying effect and its antiseptic capacity make it ideal to be introduced into products to purify skin.

SIBYBUM MARIANUM ETHYL ESTER

Extraction: Milk thistle oil. An herbaceous plant that grows in dry, sunny soils.

Benefits: Milk thistle ester is high in Omega 6, which provides skin barrier protection. It is also used as a natural alternative to silicones. 

HYDROGENATED OILVE OIL

Extraction: obtained from the hydrogenation of olive oil (Olea Europaea Fruit Oil). It has a solid or semi-solid state, which makes it very suitable for some cosmetic applications.

Benefits: rich in vitamins E and K, it comes from one of the most prestigious oils in the Mediterranean and represents a rich source of antioxidants. It is a great skin conditioner, fighting dryness thanks to the presence of monounsaturated fatty acids.

COCO-CAPRYLATE / CAPRATE

Extraction: a vegetable ingredient obtained from coconut.

Benefits: presents a high level of biocompatibility with skin and therefore has the ability to penetrate deep and help skin to repair itself. It acts as an emollient and provides skin with incredible softness.

VITAMIN E

Extraction: tocopherol or vitamin E, is naturally found in vegetable fats and oils, cereals, nuts and green and yellow leafy vegetables.

Benefits: it is used in cosmetics for its antioxidant properties and also acts as a skin conditioning agent. Reduces the appearance of stretch marks, helps improve skin tone, moisturizes and helps keep skin firm. GLYCERYL STEARATE

LACTIC ACID

Extraction: Lactic acid is obtained from the natural fermentation of sugars and is used to adjust the pH of cosmetic products due to its acidic nature.

Benefits: This ingredient allows cosmetics to be milder for skin and hair.

POTATO STARCH

Extraction: this ingredient in extracted from potato and acts as a thickener and gentle emulsifier.

Benefits: this emulsifier adds natural texture to the products. Its emollient properties add extra hydration and rapid absorption to the skin.

SODIUM BENZOATE

Extraction: benzoic acid salt that is naturally found in blueberries, prunes, cinnamon and apple.

Benefits: it is used as a cosmetic preservative to prevent the growth and proliferation of fungi and bacteria in the products. 

POTASSIUM SORBATE

Extraction: is the potassium salt of sorbic acid that occurs naturally in mountain berries (Sorbus aucuparia).

Benefits: acts as a preservative, protecting cosmetics from deterioration by preventing or delaying the growth and reproduction of microorganisms. This compound is easily metabolized by the body and produces water and CO2, therefore it is completely harmless.

LIMONENE

Extraction: it is a monoterpene of natural origin that is found in many citrus fruits such as lemon. It is a colorless liquid with a light, fresh and sweet citrus aroma.

Benefits: widely used to make fragrances and flavors. It is a main component of many essential oils.

CITRAL

Extraction: also known as geranial, is a natural compound with lemon citrus aroma. It comes from the essential oils of a series of plants that include: lemon grass, lemon myrtle, lemon and orange blossom.

Benefits: it is used in perfumes as a natural component of essential oils. It is refreshing, rich in vitamins, stimulates microcirculation and nurtures tissues.

GERANIOL

Extraction: It is a monoterpene that is found in natural essential oils. It is found naturally in plants such as geranium and lemon.

Benefits: it is widely used as an ingredient of fragrances due to its rose-like scent. It is also used in many products to generate grapefruit, plum, pineapple, peach, lemon and cranberry scents.
