WATER

Extraction:  water is an element present in most cosmetic products and is the most important raw material. In the cosmetics industry, purified water is used in a process to eliminate any solid particle that may contain water in order to achieve a higher degree of purity and quality.

Benefits: water helps to cleanse the body. Hydrates and improves the effect of other active ingredients, provides softness and delays premature aging of the skin.

VEGETABLE GLYCERIN

Extraction: it is harvested from plants (soy or coconut oil for example) by hydrolysis of fats and by fermenting sugars. Glycerol is found naturally in skin and is considered a self-healing compound.

Benefits: it is one of the many substances in the skin that helps maintain the outer barrier and prevents dryness and peeling. It leaves skin feeling nourished and works to treat acne. It also prevents the accumulation of fat and improves the appearance of hair. Vegetable glycerin can be used as a diluent and as an alcohol substitute when preparing herbal extracts.

MICA

Extraction: it is a silicate mineral composed by several thin, shiny, soft and flexible sheets.

Benefits: mica is used as a pigment in cosmetics. It provides brightness and luminosity.

SILICA

Extraction: silicon dioxide (SiO₂), commonly known as silica, is a main component of sand. It is a mineral obtained via the purification of quartz.

Benefits: works in cosmetics products as a thickening agent with an amorphous structure. It is also used as an anti-agglomerate or absorbent.

GLYCERYL STERATE CITRATE

Extraction: This ingredient is obtained from glycerine and stearic acid, an oily acid obtained from vegetable oils.

Benefits: Acts as lubricant in the skin’s Surface, giving a smooth-looking finish. It delays water loss by forming a protective barrier. Moreover, in formulation terms, it helps emulsify by reducing superficial tension in already existing substances.

RICE STARCH

Extraction: Rice starch is a natural polymeric carbohydrate. It is the main component of rice, and is composed of amylose and amylopectin. When isolated from the rest of components, it comes in the form of a white powder.

Benefits: It is used as a natural alternative to talc. It has a very soft and pleasant touch, and absorbs the excess of sebum to achieve a matte finish. It helps to fix the makeup, which remains more time intact on skin.

CANDELILLA WAX

Extraction: Candelilla Wax comes from the plant Euphorbia Cerífera, also known as candelilla plant. Its colour can vary from a brown to a more yellowish tone.

Benefits: This wax has protective and moisturising properties and is well absorbed into the skin. It is used as a vegan alternative to beeswax as it shares the same protective and thickening properties. One of the most appreciated properties of this wax is the high level of brightness in its surface when refined.

HYDROGENATED FARNESENE

Extraction: Farnesene is a combination of isomeric compounds. In order to create this ingredient, natural farnesenes extracted from the covering of fruits or essential oils are combined. It is responsible for the characteristic smell of green apples, or the scent of gardenia.

Benefits: In cosmetics, its odourless version is used because of its incredible emollient and conditioning properties on the skin, giving it a light finish and a very soft texture.

POLYGLYCERYL-3 STEARATE

Sourcing: is an ester of a polymer of 3 glycerins together with stearic acid obtained from vegetable sources.

Benefits: It is an emulsifier that allows the mixing of immiscible liquids by modifying the surface tension.

SODIUM CHLORIDE

Extraction: sodium chloride is obtained from the mineral halite and is commonly known as table salt. It is a mineral essential for all biological organisms and is found in most tissues and body fluids.

Benefits: it is used to give flavour and to thicken the aqueous portion of beauty care products.

CAPRYLIC / CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE

Extraction: derived from Coconut Oil and Glycerin, is considered an excellent emollient and skin repairing agent. It is a mix of fatty acids. It is not considered a sensitizing agent.

Benefits: it repairs the surface of the skin and prevents the loss of moisture and also works to thicken skin. They are neutral oils that do not irritate the skin, are easy to apply and are quickly absorbed.

LECITINA HIDROGENADA

Sourcing: Lecithin is a natural mixture of Diglycerides and Phosphoric Acid obtained from some seeds such as soybeans. Its appearance varies from a waxy mass to a thick liquid.

Benefits: Lecithin and Hydrogenated Lecithin improve the appearance of dry or damaged skin by reducing flaking and restoring elasticity. These ingredients also help to form emulsions by reducing the surface tension of the substances.

OLEIC ACID

Extraction: oleic acid is a monounsaturated fatty acid of the sere omega 9. Its first double bond is found between the 9th and 10th carbon of its chain. It is extracted from plant-derived oils, such as olive or safflower oils.

Benefits: numerous health benefits are attributed to this ingredient, thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties. It restores the levels of humidity of skin, providing hydration and elasticity. It is also used to convey other active ingredients in cosmetics thanks to its high penetration capacity in the stratum corneum.

GLYCERYL CAPRYLATE

Extraction: natural ester of vegetable origin of glycerin and caprylic acid.

Benefits: acts as an emulsion stabilizer and a moisturizing agent.

MEADOWFOAM OIL Eco

Extraction: the Limnanthes Alba is a species of plant of the Meadowfoam family, originally from California and Oregon, where it grows in moist, grassy habitats.

Benefits: it has impressive moisturising and rejuvenating properties. It is a great ally in the fight against the loss of hydration, helping to create a barrier that prevents the loss of water and facilitates the entry of nutrients into the deeper layers of the skin.

JOJOBA OIL

Extraction: jojoba oil is extracted from the jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis) nut (seed). Actually, it functions more like a wax that is liquid at room temperature than an oil. 96% of its composition consists of ceramides.

Benefits: highly moisturizing and nourishing. Ceramides cover the cells of the epidermis and to help regulate and intensify hydration. They are very similar to human skin, which is why they are absorbed and act quickly and are not oily to the touch. Jojoba oil also contains linoleic acid which is a very effective at restructuring and regenerating natural skin. Its vitamin E content also helps to rejuvenate skin and provides defence against free radicals. In addition, it is ideal for oily and acne-prone skin because it absorbs accumulated sebum and helps minimise breakouts. 

XANTHAN GUM

Extraction: natural polysaccharide of high natural weight derived from the fermentation of carbohydrates such as glucose or corn syrup.

Benefits: it is used as a binder, emulsion stabilizer and skin conditioning agent in a wide variety of cosmetics and personal care products. 1% of xanthan gum is used for cosmetic formulations.

GUM ARABIC

Extraction: Acacia Senegal is a tree originally from sub-Saharan Africa, Pakistan and India. It produces a gum known as gum arabic, widely used in food as a texturiser, or in medicine and pharmacy for intestinal and skin inflammation treatments.

Benefits: in cosmetics, acacia gum is used as a thickener because of its texture, which forms a gel in contact with water and a film in contact with air. 

TERMINALIA ARJUNA

Extraction: Terminalia Arjuna is an Ayurvedic tree originally from India, where it is recognised for its properties in medicine.

Benefits: it has 4 active mechanisms that allow skin to recover firmness and elasticity, fighting the red-blue pigmentation caused by dark circles under the eyes. It also helps to reduce the visible blood vessels in the eye-contour area.

GLYCERYL BEHENATE

Extraction: Glyceryl Behenate is a plant-derived ester derived from glycerin and behenic acid.

Benefits: It is used in food, pharmacy and cosmetics for its capacity to improve viscosity in emulsions. It is a non-comedogenic ingredient, which does not provide greasy sensation nor obstructs the pores of the skin.

LOW MOLECULAR WEIGHT VEGAN HYALURONIC ACID

Extraction: the low molecular weight hyaluronic acid has plant-derived origins and is obtained by a biotechnological process. It is naturally found in the dermis of the skin, so the application of this acid on our skin will not irritate or damage it.

Benefits: works on the tight joints between cells. It protects the synthesis of collagen and elastin, and stimulates the vascularisation process to increase the supply of nutrients and oxygen to cells. This is reflected in a noticeable increase in the firmness of the skin, giving it a youthful and healthy appearance.

CAPRYLHYDROXAMIC ACID

Extraction: Caprylhydroxamic acid is an amino acid derived from coconut oil.

Benefits: It is a chelating agent that inactivates metal ions to prevent deterioration of cosmetic products.

SODIUM PHYTATE

Extraction: sodium salt from phytic acid, a vegetable compound found in corn.

Benefits: it is used in cosmetic products as a chelating agent to prevent the heavy metals.

LECITHIN

Extraction: Lecithin is a natural mixture of diglycerides and phosphoric acid that is obtained from some seeds such as soybeans. Its appearance varies from a waxy mass to a thick liquid.

Benefits: lecithin and hydrogenated lecithin improve the appearance of dry or damaged skin by reducing flaking and restoring elasticity. They increase water retention, thereby reducing loss of hydration. These ingredients also help form non-ionic emulsions by reducing the substances’ surface tension.

ACMELLA EXTRACT

Sourcing: Extract obtained from the Acmella Oleracea plant from South Africa and Madagascar, harvested by hand to preserve the natural development of the plant. 

Benefits: An extract rich in alkylamides that stimulate fibroblast activity, provides support to the collagen fibre network and restores firmness and smoothness to the skin. It has tightening and strengthening properties for the structure of the dermis.

SODIUM BICARBONATE

Sourcing: Sodium bicarbonate is naturally present in minerals. 

Benefits: Used in cosmetics for its exfoliating properties and antibacterial power.

VITAMIN E

Extraction: tocopherol or vitamin E, is naturally found in vegetable fats and oils, cereals, nuts and green and yellow leafy vegetables.

Benefits: it is used in cosmetics for its antioxidant properties and also acts as a skin conditioning agent. Reduces the appearance of stretch marks, helps improve skin tone, moisturizes and helps keep skin firm. For hair care, Holy Basil helps improve the blood circulation in the scalp which stimulates hair growth and helps to condition hair and provide shine.

RED IRON OXIDE

Obtainment: Pigment of mineral origin.

Benefits: Acts as a red coloring.

TITANIUM DIOXIDE

Extraction: the titanium dioxide included in this formulation is from natural mineral origin, it is obtained from the rutile mineral.

Benefits: it has the ability to act as a solar protector reflecting and scattering radiations. It acts in the skin in a superficial way as a mirror, adding an effective barrier against sun rays. Its protection power is highly effective against UVA radiations, visible lighting and IR. It also acts as a dye or opacifier, thanks to its pure white colour.
